Video: How does this baby safe box work?

An alarm system is connected to this circuit and sends a ‘panic’ signal to Exactus Risk Management security service

The door is opened from the outside, a baby is placed on the pressure plate and the door is closed.

When the baby is placed on the pressure plate the micro switches is close.

An alarm system is connected to this circuit and sends a ‘panic’ signal to Exactus Risk Management security service.

There is no alarm that sounds at the saver. 10 selected people at each site is then connected to a ‘sms’ alert system, everyone receives the alert “baby in box”.

Standard protocol is then followed where ER24 will come to the site and safely remove the baby from the box and transport the baby to the hospital for further care.

The social worker then takes over from the hospital.

What can the community do to make a difference?

Scheepers said that, “we are need of donations to make all of this possible, without the financial assistance from the public we won’t be able to drive this initiative or install any more boxes. Not only does it cost a very large amount to manufacture and install these boxes but it costs us monthly fees to keep these boxes active. The boxes are very tech savvy and keeping all these electronics active has monthly fees as well. If someone would like to assist and can’t afford to sponsor an entire box they can definitely contribute by covering those monthly fees by donating what they can.”
