On Thursday, January 2, in Mthimunye Street, a man woke up at about 05:30 in the morning and found his kitchen door wide open and also noticed the window in the kitchen was also open.

He then also noticed that his plasma TV, gas bottle and gas stove were stolen.

The unknown suspects are suspected to have gained entry into the house using the window as there was a piece of wire that was put on the windowpane and the glass was cracked.

Another man alleged that on Tuesday, December 31, he left his house in order in Wilge Section at 19:15 and went to Phola Location with his wife to visit his friend.

He came back on Wednesday, January 1, at around 01:30 in the morning and found groceries on top of the kitchen unit and his bedroom was messy. He suspected that a duplicate key could have been used to gain entry.

A laptop, a router, clothes and shoes were taken.

A complainant at Mahamba Street went on holiday on Friday, December 20, and came back on Thursday, January 2, to find that his TV, microwave and his shoes had been stolen.

When he tried to unlock his door, his keys did not work.

He noticed that the door handle had been changed and proceeded to push the door to open and found that the items mentioned above had been stolen.

On Saturday, December 28, a man from Qwabe Street, left for work at about 16:45. He arrived the next day in the morning at about 06:00 at his house and noticed that the door was forcefully opened.

His sports bag, wallet with R700, a USB stick, groceries and four trousers were stolen.

All the house robberies were reported at Phola Police Station. All the suspects involved in the robberies are unknown.
