Two men stabbed to death by 17-year-olds

The men told the nurse that the man was stabbed at Phola Park close to the clinic where there was a New Year’s Eve celebration.

Two 17-year-old boys allegedly stabbed two men on separate days and the men later succumbed to their injuries.

One man was brought in at a local clinic in Phola Location on Wednesday, January 1, at about 07:10 in the morning.

The man was taken to the emergency room.

The clinic alerted Phola Police Station about the incident and upon arrival the police found a nurse still busy with the man as he was still breathing.

He was stabbed three times in his chest.

According to a nurse who spoke to the police, the man was brought by two unknown men on the same morning at about 06:30.

The men told the nurse that the man was stabbed at Phola Park close to the clinic where there was a New Year’s Eve celebration.

They said a small boy stabbed him, but did not mention his name.

The man was declared dead by paramedics.

The 17-year-old boy was found and arrested on the same day. He appeared in court for the first time on Thursday, January 2, and the case was postponed to Tuesday, January 7.

He was released to the supervision of his parents. The boy was kept at Hendrina Child and Youth Care Centre before his release.

The other 17-year-old boy stabbed a man who was also found at Phola Park and unfortunately, he also died.

The incident was reported to have happened on Tuesday, December 17, 2019.

The clinic alerted the police station about the murder and on arrival, police officers found the known male already declared dead by paramedics.

According to the police, the deceased was stabbed with a knife. The suspect was arrested on the same day and also appeared in court the same day.

The case was postponed to Tuesday, December 24 and he was released to the supervision of his parents.

The suspect was also kept at Hendrina Child and Youth Care Centre before his release.

Both the minors are not kept in Phola Location as their release conditions states. They are kept at an unidentified address as they await trial.
