NB! No burning of fireworks is allowed in residential areas of eMalahleni.
However the municipality has identified the following demarcated areas where fireworks may be discharged.
1. Lynville Tennis Court
2. Sy Mthimune Stadium (Next to stadium)
3. Tsietsi Playground
4. Lekazi Playground
5. Ext 5 soccer field
6. Klipfontein Dam
7. Phola Soccer Field at Mthimunye Street
8. Ogies Soccer field next to council chamber
9. Thubelihle soccer field
10. Ga-Nala Rugby Field
11. Ext 14 and 11 Open spaces
12. Pine Ridge Soccer Stadium
13. Warehouse Pap and Grill
14. Rietspruit open space next to hall
Also take note that the burning of fireworks will only be allowed on Tuesday, December 31 and no other date.
Anyone who does not comply is subject to prosecution.
For safety the following rules apply:
1. Children under 16 are prohibited to use or fire fireworks.
2. All pets are to be locked in safe houses.
3. Fireworks to be discharged under supervision.
The Emalahleni Local Municipality asks for the cooperation of all residents in this regard.
