The life of a baby matters; even a baby that is born premature – Giving the little bundle of joy hope and a chance of having a great life is the first step into that child’s life. November 17 is a day set aside every year globally as World Prematurity Day (WPD) to celebrate our premature babies.

This year November 17 is on a Sunday hence it was decided to celebrate the event on Friday, November 15 at Witbank Hospital.

The main purpose of the day is to create awareness of concerns or challenges facing premature babies and their families as well as advocate support for them to ensure their survival.

The event was a huge success with premature baby parents to health professionals participating in the event.
