Burglars willing to kill

The suspect allegedly threatened to kill her if she did not cooperate

Two residents from eMalahleni suffered a major loss after armed burglars made their appearance.

A woman residing in Die Heuwel Ext 1 was left without some of her property after a male burglar took a chance and managed to steal her belongings.

On Wednesday, November 6 at about 09:00, the woman was still sleeping but was awaken by the constant barking of her dog.

She went to check but could not find anything suspicious.

It was only when she entered her house again that an unknown male approached her from behind with a knife.

The suspect allegedly threatened to kill her if she did not cooperate.

The suspect forced her to sit down on the bed.

Allegedly the suspect managed to get away with electrical appliances, jewellery, cutlery and a cell phone.

After taking what he wanted, the suspect fled the scene.

No arrests have been made.

On Friday, November 8 at about 06:45 a man from eMalahleni also paid the price when two armed robbers decided to show up at his house.

A 37-year-old man residing on a plot on the Old Middelburg Road (R555) was the target.

Allegedly he heard knocking on his door and he went to see who it was.

“The guy at the door said he was just looking for work,” the man explained. “I told him that he must wait for the owner of the farm.”

“I could see this guy looks suspicious so I just closed the door,” he further explained.

A second suspect joined the first one and they allegedly forced the door open.

“The one pointed a gun towards me,” he said.

The suspects then allegedly tied the man up with a USB cable.

While he was tied up the robbers helped themselves.

Allegedly they got away with cash and electrical appliances.

Police are still investigating this case.
