Witbank High learners introduced into Coding skills

Computer Science Education Week

Mpumalanga ICT Club took the top 40 Grade 9 learners into a big surprise when Ms Nomusa Keninda and Ms Duduzile Mashinini visited the school to introduce learners into Coding skills as part of the Africa Code Week 2019.

The event was held at the school on Tuesday, October 29.

“Thank you to SAP, Google and Mpumalanga ICT Club, we learnt to create our own animations of cartoons today” said Ashley, one of the learners in the group of Coders.

“We also introduced learners into Positive Personal Branding model in order for them to build their own brands and choose careers that would be created by the industry 4.0 commonly known as the 4th Industrial Revolution and we are also establishing DigiGirlz Coding clubs in schools to encourage more girls into Technology careers,” added Ms Keninda.

“On December 9 till 15, a Computer Science Education Week will be globally celebrated and we hope more schools will participate,” concluded Ms Keninda.
