Water supply interruption

The need for the shutdown is due to multiple leaks that have been observed by the technical teams during routine inspection

This notice serves to inform the community of Phola and Ogies that there will be water supply interruptions from November 11 to 14 due to a planned shutdown of the rising main pipe supplying bulk water to residents of Phola and Ogies.

The need for the shutdown is due to multiple leaks that have been observed by the technical teams during routine inspection of the line and therefore, the Department of Human Settlements was contacted to ensure the contractor responsible for installation of the bulk pipe line.

“We therefore, advise the community to stock up on water supply during this period and use water sparingly. Water tankers will be available during this period to supply water to all affected areas,” said Mr Lebo Mofokeng, municipal spokesperson.

“We apologise for the inconvenience caused however this will help reduce the water interruptions which recently took place in the area. Water supply is expected to return to normal supply on or before November 14.”
