Truck hijacked on N12

It is alleged that six men disarmed security guards of their firearms and hijacked a truck on the N12 national road between Blesbokfontein and Kendal off-ramp at Phola.

On Thursday, October 17, two security vehicles escorted a truck from Benoni when to white sedans with unknown registration numbers were spotted.

The suspects opened fire towards the guards; one of the security vehicles was shot in the rear right tyre where after it came to a standstill.

Four armed men appeared and disarmed the guards.

They also took their belongings before proceeding chasing the other guard’s vehicle and truck.

The suspects continued firing at the other security vehicle until it also came to a standstill.

The guards was then disarmed and the truck was also forced to stop, the driver and passenger was then forced into the suspect’s vehicles.

They were dropped off later on the road.

It is alleged that the truck was carrying containers filled with boxes of cell phones and was left just before the N4 road.

Two containers were cut open and emptied with a third one only half the load was taken.
