12 days without water

Residents had to come up with a plan of their own to meet their basic need of ‘water’ which they have now been without for nearly two weeks

Residents of Van Steel Court, a complex in Ext 10 are furious and with good reason.

They have been without water for 12 consecutive days. Allegedly the caretaker of the complex has contacted Emalahleni Local Municipality but with no success.

“This is unacceptable, we need to clean and bath and cook. It seems like no one is doing anything to help us,” said a frustrated resident, Mr Johan Lubbe.

“All the other properties all around us have water, it’s just us,” stated Lubbe.

Residents had to come up with a plan of their own to meet their basic need of ‘water’ which they have now been without for nearly two weeks.

A hole has been opened and this is being used as the main source of water at this stage.

“We have to wait nearly three hours in a queue in order to get water from this pipe,” Lubbe concluded.

WITBANK NEWS contacted the local municipality to inform them of this issue. No response had been received yet.
