When will abuse against women end?

Two women have reported rape cases at the Witbank Police Station on separate days.

One woman reported that on Sunday, September 1 between 10:00 in the morning and 13:00 in the afternoon she was preparing to take a bath and a man forcefully entered her house in Old Coronation when her husband was not around.

She alleged that the man was drunk and stated that after the man gained access into the house, he took off his trouser, pushed her on top of the bed, undressed her and began to commit the act of raping her.

Her husband walked in and the suspect jumped off her and fought with the husband.

The woman was able to give an identification of the suspect but he is alleged to be fleeing away from the police, therefore no arrest has been made.

The other rape case was opened by a woman and she alleged that on Friday, September 6 at around 15:50 in the afternoon she caught a lift from a white Toyota bakkie from Klarinet Ext 3 towards Verena R544 road, near where people collect wood.

The male driver of the bakkie drove with her to the destination.

She alleged that the driver took out his pistol and pointed at her.

The suspect raped her and thereafter took her Samsung cell phone worth R2 000.

Unfortunately, the suspect is unknown.
