Suspects of looting expected to appear in court

An investigation into their involvement in the looting of foreign shops is currently underway

The alleged mastermind behind the looting of shops in the CBD (Central Business District) is expected to appear in court, along with others who were arrested.

This follows the incident that took place on Wednesday, September 11 and the Provincial Commissioner of SAPS in Mpumalanga, Lieutenant General Mondli Zuma strongly condemns the acts of criminality.

The video has since gone viral and the suspects are expected to appear in court today, Friday, September 13 on charges of possession of stolen property, theft as well as assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

An investigation into their involvement in the looting of foreign shops is currently underway.

The police in Mpumalanga urge the community not to participate in such criminal acts but to report it to the police instead.
