Go complain if your water account is too high

It is not only the lack of water that has consumers hot under the collar, it is also the extremely high water bills that has them fuming.

Consumers have been issued with extremely high water consumption bills.

During a community meeting earlier this month, Mr Mike Lelaka, director of technical services admitted that there are no pressure relieve valves in the water networks in eMalahleni.

He said the municipality has to accommodate residents whose accounts are higher than usual.

“We have to adjust those accounts,” Lelaka said.

Lelaka advised that residenst with abnormal high water accounts must go to the municipality where they will be assisted and their accounts rectified.
