Tjhida Ngi Tjhudule dancing their way to the top

The group has 25 members in total including two disabled children

Tjhida Ngi Tjhudule are an IsiNdebele dance group and they have been doing this for a long time now.

They have been to the big stage and have shared the stage with well-known artists and dancers.

The group under the leadership of Ms Johanna Mthimunye have been invited to perform at the Mpumalanga Show at the Standard Bank Cultural Village.

The show will take place from Thursday, August 29 till Saturday, August 31.

The group will appear as part of the show’s initiative to showcase the cultures and traditions that exist in the province and in turn promote or showcase talent.

This year will be the third show at Mbombela.

“Cultural heritage and natural history of a nation has a very high value and is unique. It is an identity that can be introduced to the world. The best way to preserve your culture heritage, whatever it may be, is to share it with others. This year Mpumalanga Show is proud to introduce the Standard Bank Cultural Village in partnership with Inkosi Malimbo 11. The Cultural Village will showcase the different cultural groups that exist within the province,” reads a statement from Sinentokozo Sgudla the project manager of the event.

The cultural groups are: Khoisan, Swazi, Ndebele, Tsonga, Tswana, Afrikaners, Mapulane, Zulu and traditional healers.

The traditions and cultures will showcase through traditional food and drink, music, dance, story telling, art and historical artefacts exhibition.

The group would like to thank Mr Themba Sigudla who donated to them a sum of R1 000 so that they can be able to buy their traditional attire, uniforms and suitcases.
