Gunmen steal and injure

Six armed men entered his tuck shop and stabbed the complainant with a knife

The ‘gunmen’ who rob businesses are still busy with their devious deeds and hit two businesses within two days.

On Wednesday, August 7 a tuck shop at the MNS squatter camp was robbed just before midnight.

The victim said that he woke up to what sounded like people breaking the walls.

He screamed and then heard gunshots and realised what was happening.

Six armed men entered his tuck shop and stabbed the complainant with a knife.

The suspects took an undisclosed amount of cash and cigarettes, cell phones and other stock from his tuck shop.

The complainant was rushed to hospital for medical attention.

On Thursday, August 8 another filling station was hit by robbers.

The ATM was bombed and the shop lost millions due to this crime.

The complainant told police that he was at the filling station in Mandela Street when five men entered the shop just after 04:00.

A firearm was pointed in his direction and he and a colleague were instructed to lie on the floor.

They suddenly heard a ‘big bang’ and after the suspects left, they saw that the ATM was bombed.

Cigarettes and cell phones were also stolen.

The case is still under investigation by the Witbank Police.
