Hoërskool Generaal Hertzog explains incident

The school however did not get the opportunity to follow the necessary disciplinary procedures

Mr Petrus Whiteman, school governing body chairperson writes:

Hoërskool Generaal Hertzog is deeply disappointed in the disturbance of the past few days.

The incident of the fight on Wednesday, July 31 between the boys was addressed immediately.

The other parties involved were identified the next day, Thursday, August 1 and dealt with.

The school however did not get the opportunity to follow the necessary disciplinary procedures.

Learners who, without having the relevant facts, has posted the incident on social media.

None of the parties involved had been suspended at that stage, but the incorrect message was posted.

It was alleged that some learners were expelled while others did not receive any punishment.

The governing body, in collaboration with the Mpumalanga Education Department is currently investigating this incident.

We have every intention that truth will prevail and justice will be served.

We have our learner’s best interest at heart and trust that you will continue to support us.
