CBD monthly spring clean

French Street was the first hit where the police arrested a man standing in front of a certain house, acting suspicious

The past week Witbank Police did a CBD (Central Business District) cleanup for drugs, yet again.

On July 18 as the sun was on its way to rise, the SAPS cuffed four suspects for the possession of drugs.

French Street was the first hit where the police arrested a man standing in front of a certain house, acting suspicious.

They asked to search the man and found drugs hidden in his trousers.

They asked him to provide them with his identity document but he could not provide them one.

The man was arrested on counts of being in possession of drugs and being an illegal immigrant.

In this time another suspicious suspect started running while the man was arrested and police caught up with him in Allenby Street where he was searched and drugs was found in his possession.

After a tip-off the police went out to the given address on July 18 on the corner of Mandela Drive and Van Deventer Street where they found a guy standing around.

They asked him to be searched and found 10 pinches on the suspect and arrested him.

“We will keep on cleaning the streets of eMalahleni of drugs,” Sgt David Ratau concluded.
