This come after three house robberies happened in three days.

On July 5, Mr Mashasha Hlengwa, a security guard, was patrolling Bethal Road in Model Park on foot having parked his car in a nearby park.

Hlengwa was approached by five strange men.

“I didn’t see that one of them had a gun until I felt the blow at the back of my head. I fell to the ground, realizing I was lucky that they just pistol-whipped me instead of actually shooting me. They took me back to my patrol car and demanded that I give them cash. I didn’t have much on me though,” said Hlengwa.

The five strange men got away with a measly R150, leaving Hlengwa with a concussion.

On July 6 just after 03:00, Mr John Sikhosana, a resident of Reyno Ridge, heard the sound of the sliding door in his bedroom sliding open. He had forgotten to lock it.

“The man was already standing over me, holding a large kitchen knife. He told me he wouldn’t hurt me if I didn’t scream. He took my wallet and cellphone off of my nightstand, and ran away back through the open sliding door. It happened so fast, I didn’t really even see his face,” explained Sikhosana.

On July 8, Mrs Tricia Buthelezi, a resident of Del Judor, awoke to the sound of a single gun shot.

She stormed downstairs and was surprised to find two unknown armed men standing in her kitchen.

They immediately turned the gun on Buthelezi and demanded to be shown to the safe.

Buthelezi complied, and the thugs thanked her by taking R3 000 out of the safe and jumping back over her garden wall.

Buthelezi escaped the incident unscathed, but shaken.
