In two separate days, two on duty attempted murders took place leaving the victims injured

Lot of things may occur as you work during the night but no one can ever suspect that they might die while they are on duty.

In two separate days, two on duty attempted murders took place leaving the victims injured.

The first one took place on Wednesday, June 26 at around 21:45 at night.

Mr Tshifhiwa Nemukula and his other three colleagues were on duty patrolling next to a transformer in Dingidonda close to Tasbet 2.

They were approached by four unknown males wearing municipal overalls.

Mr Nemukula saw one of the suspects taking out a firearm and started shooting at them. He managed to run away to call for back up over the radio.

Going back to the scene with back up, he found two of his colleagues were shot at and injured on their legs and back.

One suffered three shots while the other suffered two shots. Both the victims were taken to the hospital for treatment.

The other attempted murder took place on Friday, June 28 at around 03:30 in the morning in Klipfontein.

Mr Given Kekana, a security guard was patrolling around the shopping centre and noticed three unknown males who were busy with an ATM in a suspicious way.

He alleged that as they were going, one of them took out a firearm and shot at his foot.

His colleague came after hearing the gunshots and called the area manager and took him to the hospital for treatment.

Mr Kekana added that his foot is getting better by the day.
