The N12 between eMalahleni and Delmas is closed due to a multi vehicle collision early this morning.
According to the Department of Community Safety, Security and Liaison spokesman, Moeti Mmusi three people have been killed.
Amongst the dead is a two-year old child.
The collisions are believed to have been aused mainly by misty conditions.
Traffic law enforcement and emergency personnel are at the scene.
Motorists are therefore advised to use alternative routes or R555 Road between Ogies and eMalaheni in order to travel to and from Delmas.
It is expected that the road will be opened at 12:00 if conditions allow.
