New Mpumalanga Members of the Executive Council

The Premier appointed five male executives and five female executives totalling to ten MECs

The newly inaugurated Premier of Mpumalanga, Refilwe Mtsweni recently announced the new Members of the Executive Council (MEC).

Just the next day after her inauguration, she announced the Mpumalanga MECs that will form part of the National Council of Provinces on Tuesday, May 28.

The Premier appointed five male executives and five female executives totalling to ten MECs.

The new MECs are: Former eMalahleni mayor, Lindiwe Ntshalintshali for arts, sport, culture and recreation; Sasekani Manzini for health department; Bonakele Majuba for education department; Norah Mahlangu for human settlement and Gillion Mashego for public works.

Mandla Msibi was appointed for corporate governance and traditional affairs; Pat Ngomane for finance, economic development and tourism; Thandi Shongwe for social development and lastly Gabisile Tshabalala for community safety, security and liaison. Vusimuzi Shongwe continues to be the MEC for agriculture, rural development and land administration.

The MECs were sworn into office on Wednesday, May 29 at Nkangala District Municipality offices.

Hopefully, the premier and executives will work together to make Mpumalanga great and a better province.
