Two weekend murders being investigated

The male has not been formally identified the Witbank SAPS told WITBANK NEWS.

Police are investigating the murders of two males which happened over the weekend of May 17 in Coronation and Pine Ridge.

The two unrelated incidents which were reported to the SAPS shared similarities as they were both cases of stabbing.

On Friday May 17 at 18:10 a police officer was alerted about a murder which had taken place at Pine Ridge.

Upon arrival to the scene the police officer was greeted by community members who were gathered around the scene of crime where a male laid dead as a result of a stabbing.

Preliminary investigations as to what had happened to the male an Indian woman informed the officer that the man who laid lifeless on the ground was her boyfriend who had been stabbed by her ex boyfriend and father of her child.

The male has not been formally identified the Witbank SAPS told WITBANK NEWS.

Subsequently on Saturday May 18, a police officer patrolling at Coronation received information of a male who was stabbed to death.

When the officer arrived at the scene, the man was found lying on the street and certified dead on the scene.

Both males have not been identified and police are investigating a case of murder for both incidences.
