What Vagabonds are all about: Teams from around the world compete for three days and a big part of the tournament is quality players coming to partake in the tournament to raise awareness of the charity.

This forthcoming tournament is our 21st Anniversary.

The Vagabonds are the reigning champions.

Our captain Tjaart van der Walt who has participated over the years was instrumental in helping the Phuket Vagabonds lift the cup in 2015, 2017 and 2018.

The Vagabonds is a group of players from all over the world with different cultures, believes and backgrounds.

This is proof that we all can work together in peace and friendship achieving goals.

Being a charity event we don’t have a budget ourselves to cover costs for players but would appreciate any help that can be provided for them to participate.

Players from local communities within South Africa are Nico Jonker and Jimmy Van Eeden from Bethal, Eddie Mphuthi from Standerton, John Sinclair, Junior Laas, Christo Nelson, Damian Bezuidenhout, Reyno Hattingh, Gerhard Rademeyer, Pieter Clarence, Heindrich Jordaan and Derick Haasbroek from eMalahleni, Tjaart van der Walt from Middelburg, Deon Kraemer, Marcel Human and Damian Diedericks from Pretoria and Robin Howell from Springs.

Reyno Hattingh added that it is the first time that so many people take part in this event.

“We are all doing this from our own pockets, for the less fortunate children from Phuket and their education.”

Anyone willing to get involved can contact Reyno on 082 325 6229.
