Downtown murder

The suspects are unknown and no arrests have been made yet

A murder of a 30-year-old man was reported at the Witbank SAPS.

The incident took place in Lewis Street in the Witbank Central Business District (CBD) on Wednesday, April 24 at around 14:45 in the afternoon after the deceased was shot twice.

The police found a bystander when they got to the scene and the body of the African male covered with a blanket.

There was an empty cartridge next to the body.

According to two witnesses who were at the scene, they told the police that they were sitting with the deceased when an unknown African man allegedly came and shot the deceased twice.

The suspects are unknown and no arrests have been made yet.

The community is urged by the police to come forward with any information in relation to the murder. If anyone has information, they can call Crime Stop on 08600 1011.
