Two businesses robbed less than an hour apart

It is not the first time this fast-food outlet was robbed

Two garages were robbed within 60 minutes of each other.

The first robbery on March 24 took place in Kiepersol Street and the second in Klarinet.

At the time going to press it could not be established if the two robberies were pulled off by the same gang of robbers.

The first robbery took place at a fast-food outlet situated in Kiepersol Street.

Ms Juliet Mdluli told WITBANK NEWS she was serving clients just after 19:15 when three armed men walked in.

“The one man instructed me to open the till. He took all the money while his friends were busy taking the clients’ cell phones,” she said. “I was so scared.”

She said the incident only lasted a few minutes and no one was injured.

It is not the first time this fast-food outlet was robbed.

Mr Hein du Toit, owner of the fast-food outlet did not want to speak to WITBANK NEWS and accused them of chasing numbers on his misfortune.

Not even 60 minutes later a call for help was heard over Zello.

Mr Phuti Ramara, manager of the Engen Garage in Klarinet said at around 20:05 six men walked into the garage and walked in-between the shelves.

Four men then made their way to the till, pointed a firearm to the lady working at the till, took the cash and also helped themselves to some cigarettes.

Police spokesperson Capt Eddie Hall said there is clear footage of the robbers at one of the scenes.

The police are investigating both robberies.
