UPDATE: Baby in house of safety

Instead of nursing her baby boy, loving and caring for him, an unknown mother left him in front of a local hostel

“I prayed the baby’s mommy would return and come fetch him.”

Instead of nursing her baby boy, loving and caring for him, an unknown mother left him in front of a local hostel.

The little baby was left defenseless in the arms of Mother Nature on Wednesday, March 13.

Ms Frederika Coetzee from Clewer could not believe her ears when a woman walked up to her and told her about the little baby she left on the grass at the hostel.

The woman told Coetzee she could have the baby and do with him what she wants.

According to Coetzee the woman got into a taxi and left.

“I immediately rushed to the hostel and found the little boy exactly where she said she left him. I held the little boy, took him home, hoping the mom would return for him.”

But she never did.

Coetzee took the baby to the Christian Social Council.

He was placed in house of safety until the whereabouts of his mother can be determined.

“How do you just leave a baby on the grass in front of a hostel? How can anyone be so cruel?” Coetzee asked.

Police spokesperson, Capt Eddie Hall asked anyone with information about the baby come forward.
