TUT opens its doors to future leaders

750 learners from five different high schools attended the Information and Career Open Day

To facilitate the young leaders of tomorrow the eMalahleni Campus of the Tswane University of Technology (TUT) introduced leading career and study opportunites to Grade 9-12 learners.

750 learners from five different high schools attended the Information and Career Open Day on Saturday, February 2 on the campus.

The mass event took place as collaboration between the Faculty of Humanities and the Faculty of Electrical Engineering.

This is also part of the science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM) schools.

The aim is to improve the matric results of the learners.

Dr Bolanle Abe, senior lecturer and academic manager (acting), congratulated everyone on the success of Saturday’s program.

“Let us keep up the good work to ensure the success of the project. We are embarking on a great future ahead,” Dr Abe said.

The Information and career day was attended by grades 9 – 12’s of Zacheas Malaza High School, Reynopark High School, Elukhanyisweni Secondary School, Pine Ridge Combined School and Witbank High School.

Dr Marius Dieperink, Faculty of Humanities, opened the event and introduced the motivational speaker Muimeleli Mutangwa before the guests toured the campus.
