Get your dog vaccinated against distemper

Canine distemper is an incurable, deadly virus which attacks your dog’s respiratory, urogenital, gastrointestinal, and nervous systems

At Klipfontein Veterninary Clinic a recent case of distemper came in and unfortunately it was picked up to late. Please get your dogs vaccinated against this viral illness.

There has been a severe increase in cases of distemper in the eMalahleni district.

Canine distemper is a contagious and serious viral illness.

What are the General Symptoms of Canine Distemper?

The first signs of canine distemper include sneezing, coughing and thick mucus coming from the eyes and nose. Fever, lethargy, sudden vomiting and diarrhoea, depression and/or loss of appetite are also symptoms of the virus.

Dr Dawie Havelaar from Klipfontein Veterinary Clinic urges dog owners to make sure that their pets vaccinations are up to date.

The dogs had to be vaccinated in the past 12 months.

Klipfontein Veterinary Clinic will offer a reduced 5:1 vaccination fee for the month of February.

5:1 – R300.00
5:1 and Rabies – R350.00

The cheaper vaccinations started on Monday, February 4, no accounts.
