Two houses were reportedly robbed in different areas of KwaGuqa Extensions.

The one house was robbed at Hlalanikahle in Extension 1 on Tuesday, January 15 at about 02:00.

A 49-year-old reported that she was at her house sleeping with her two children in the early hours of the morning when she heard some noise coming from the other room and she asked who it was.

Her son responded saying it was him and was with two unknown people.

The suspects then instructed her to open the door and when she did, they hit her with an iron pipe on the head demanded money.

They took away R7 000 in cash as well as two cell phones, bank cards and her driver’s licence and tied them up and they then fled the scene.

The value of the items taken is R9 500.

The other house was robbed at Extention 16 at Marikana on Thursday, January 17 at about 20:30.

The house owner told the police that she was at her home with her children when she heard a knock at the door.

Her son was in the kitchen, she called her son and he only answered once.

After a few minutes she saw three suspects wearing balaclavas, one pointed her with a firearm and demanded money and her boyfriend’s firearm.

She told them that she doesn’t know anything about a firearm.

They ordered her to lay on the floor with her children.

They took with them a plasma television, two cell phones and two DVD players and they then fled the scene.

The value of all the items taken is R4 850.

No one has been arrested in both cases and police are investigating.
