Emalahleni Local Municipality has been made aware of allegations of misrepresentation in connection with some candidates who have been employed between November and December.

Emalahleni Local Municipality has been made aware of allegations of misrepresentation in connection with some candidates who have been employed between November and December.

Since the allegations were brought to the attention of management an investigation has been instituted to verify whether the said candidates misled the municipality in their Curriculum Vitae (CV) or not.

The candidates applied for posts which were advertised in the local newspaper and were required to submit their application letters and CVs, and they were duly shortlisted and invited for an interview.

Based on recommendation of the panel about their suitability, they were then employed, but our systems picked up what appears to be discrepancies in the CVs.

An investigation has been established to verify these alleged inconsistencies in their CVs.

The municipality request space to investigate these allegations and appeal to anyone including staff members and members of the public with information to come forward.
