Copper cable operation proves to be very successful

Copper theft is high on the police’s priority list.

Earlier this week they arrested 10 suspects for alleged copper theft.

The suspects are from Ga-Nala, Ogies, Blinkpan, Tsakane and Hendrina.

All the suspects appeared in court briefly and was granted bail of between R1 000 and R5 000.

They are expected to appear in court again on January 4 and February 8 facing charges of copper cable theft and dealing in line with the Second Hand Goods Act and Criminal Procedure Amendment Act.

The value of the copper cable seized is R600 000.
