A Toyota Hilux bakkie and an Audi S3 hijacked

The first vehicle to be hijacked was a white Toyota Hilux bakkie and it was hijacked at Ncongwane Street in Lynnville.

Two vehicles were reported hijacked.

The first vehicle to be hijacked was a white Toyota Hilux bakkie and it was hijacked at Ncongwane Street in Lynnville. The vehicle was hijacked on Sunday, October 28 at about 21:30.

The 37-year old owner reported that he was driving in Lynnville with his girlfriend when they were blocked by four suspects who threatened them with firearms. The suspects forced them to the back seat and drove with them to the bushes.

Two of the suspects remained guarding them and two drove with the vehicle and withdrew cash from an ATM. The suspects then fled the scene in a Mazda with unknown registration number and colour, leaving them in the veld. The hijacked car’s registration number is FF 66 GZ GP and the value is unknown.

The second vehicle to be hijacked was a grey Audi S3 with registration number JHL 0625 MP and is valued at R800 000.

It was reported by the 36-year old owner that he was at Phase Four in Vosman to drop his cousin and he stopped to take water from the boot.

When he returned back to the vehicle, three suspects approached him. One of the suspects pointed him with a firearm and forced him to the boot of his vehicle. They drove with him until they stopped at an unknown shack and the suspects then disconnected the tracker.

After six hours they forced him to the boot again and drove with him until they dropped him off along the road and drove away.

The hijacking was on Monday, October 29 at about 19:30.

Vosman communication officer Constable Khomotso Maluleke warned community members to always be vigilent when driving their vehicles and when they stop at their houses. When they see suspicious vehicles and unkown people around their community, they should report to the police station.

No one has been arrested in both cases and police are investigating.
