On Thursday, October 18, Eskom’s Kusile Power Station hosted a driver’s training safety awareness session.

Transporting employees from different places to work is their job and the purpose of the training was to inform drivers about the new Administrative Adjudication of Road Traffic Offences (AARTO) system which was recently introduced.

One of South Africa’s greatest challenges is to reduce the carnage on our roads. About 500 drivers attended the training.

The presentation covered an array of safety issues concentrating on driver behaviour and vehicle roadworthiness.

Drivers were encouraged to follow road traffic laws at all times.

The overall training was well received and drivers learnt a lot about the application of the AARTO system.
