Imbizo called by Phola CPF

The Phola Community Policing Forum called a gathering at U-Save Shoprite to address the issues of crime committed at U-Save, more especially offenses such as common robberies, robberies with firearms and theft of motor vehicles. This meeting took place on Thursday, October 18.

The Phola Station Commander, Lt. Col. Nape Philip Matlala was leading the Imbizo.

He was also accompanied by his Vispol member’s constable Nonhlanhla Monama who is a CIMAC (Crime Information Management Analysis Center) official as well as constable Thabang Petros Nthuli who is a Communications Officer.

The community responded very positively and came in numbers to join forces with the Phola CPF to put a stop on these criminal acts at U-Save Shoprite.

Twenty-five volunteers from the community came forward and formed a structure that will be assisting the CPF to patrol around the vicinity of U-Save to stop the criminals from robbing people.

They confirmed that no community member will turn a victim of this criminal offence under their watch, they will ensure that they immediately call the police as soon as they notice any crime committed and that they will never take the law into their own hands.
