Out of a pack of many R100’s, the wrong one was chosen and landed two suspects in jail, and their shop door was rolled down.
On Friday, September 28, two suspects did not know that when they started the day, their activities would be exposed. Unlucky for them, they put in petrol with a counterfeit R100 and they were busted.
More counterfeit money.
A petrol attendant from a filling station in Tasbet Park saw something was ‘off’ with the money, tested it under the UV light and saw that it was counterfeit. Police and the SACCW (South African Community Crime Watch) were informed and within minutes the house of the suspects were infiltrated.
Abortion goods, counterfeit money making machines, counterfeit money, pamphlets, ‘medicine’ and much more were found in their home.

Their shop down town was next in line and many counterfeit goods, ‘medicine’ and money were confiscated.
The police officers contacted law enforcement and all the counterfeit goods were loaded in the vans, along with the suspects.
Capt Sibeko, captain of sector 5 was part of the raid.
Officers on duty asked the bystanders how people can be so stupid?
“This is normal salt with food colouring and you think it keeps away the tokolosh. Really? These people are crooking everyone and the community is making them rich by buying this s&!#!”
Skin lightning creams were amongst the confiscated goods.
The counterfeit money that was used to put in petrol on Friday, September 28.
“It lightens your skin, makes you whiter but causes cancer,” said an officer on scene. “That is why they are not allowed to have it.”
‘Sexual boosters’, ‘holy healing water’, ‘herbal medicine’, ‘purify after shaving medicine’, ‘cure for disease medicine’, ‘sea water with healing powers’ and ‘herbal medicine that will make you strong’ were only some goods confiscated during the visit to the shop.
