The woman who is accused of allegedly stabbing her husband was released on bail.
Itumeleng Makhalemele-Maseko (26) appeared in B Court at Witbank Magistrate’s Court on Thursday, September 13, for her second appearance after she appeared on September 5.
She appeared in court on Thursday for her bail application.
Makhalemele-Maseko walked into a packed courtroom with a blue blanket wrapped around her waist. She sat with her arms folded as she waited for the case to begin.
Her lawyer then requested that her bail application be postponed until Friday, September 14, due to the fact that he had initially given Makhalemele-Maseko’s address to the wrong investigating officer (IO).

The right IO would need more time to verify the information and the bail application could carry on the next day.
The state prosecutor, Mr Fannie Mavundla agreed with the postponement.
Magistrate Daleen Venter then told Makhalemele-Maseko that she would remain in custody until Friday.

On Friday, September 14, Makhalemele-Maseko appeared in court still with her blue blanket wrapped around her body.
She was released on R3 000 bail; her next court appearance will be on Friday, November 9.
Her bail was granted because she wasn’t deemed a flight risk because she supplied a fixed and alternative residential address, the court considered that she has children and she needed to take care of them and her release on bail was deemed in the interest of justice.
She allegedly stabbed her husband, Mr Willem Caswell Maseko, who is the father of their two children at their home in eMalahleni on Saturday, September 1.
