ATM bombers thought they would leave with thousands, and instead they left empty handed.

An ATM bombing was reported to the Vosman Police Station, after it took place early on Tuesday morning around 04.20 on September 11.

The security guards on duty at the mall were allegedly held up at gunpoint by the suspects.

An approximate nine males gained entry to the mall through the small gate close to the foot bridge on the N4 highway. The suspects allegedly also used this route to flee the mall.

It was reported that the suspects placed explosives at two of the FNB ATM’s. One was bombed with no cash loss. The other was not bombed, however two unused explosives were found on the ATM. The explosive expert removed last mentioned explosives.

The fingerprints expert was summoned to the scene as well as Witbank Crime Intelligence to gather information.

Vosman Visual Policing and detectives were on scene, opening a case and investigating what happened.

A clothing store was forced open and some clothing was stolen. The suspects’ mode of transport is unknown and it is suspected that the suspects were dropped off on the N4 highway.
