In the first case an Ethiopian businessman of Vosman was robbed. His shop was robbed on Monday, August 20 at midnight. He was robbed at gunpoint of R600 in cash, cigarettes, airtime and groceries.

The value of all the items taken is R938. He reported to the police that he was asleep in his room next to the shop when three unknown suspects entered and threatened him with a firearm. The suspects took him to the shop where they took the abovementioned items, then fled the scene on foot. The suspects gained entry into the shop by cutting the roof.

Another Ethiopian national was robbed at his store in Vosman in Extension 4 also on the same date at 15:45 at gun point as well. The 41- year old shop owner told the police that he was with four colleagues at the shop when two suspects armed with a firearm and knife entered the shop. The one with a firearm pointed the gun at them and demanded money.

They took R500 in cash, LG and Styl cell phones; the value of all the items taken is R2 100. They fled the scene on foot.

Another Ethiopian national was robbed at his shop in Hlalanikahle. The shop was robbed on Tuesday, August 21 at 19:30.

The 43-year old victim was at his shop when he was confronted by five suspects who entered and pointed him with a firearm demanding money. One of the suspects came next to him and stabbed him on his right hand and pressed him down. The suspects took a big bag as they put the items in it. They took R500 in cash, airtime and cigarettes; the value of all items taken is R2 500.

The suspects then fled the scene. The victim went to hospital and later went back to the shop where he found one of the suspects.

He called the police and the suspect was arrested.
