When police arrived at the estate home in Voortrekker Street on Saturday, September 1 they were met with a blood trail from the kitchen all the way to one of the bedrooms.


Team no bail, stood outside the court on Wednesday, September 5.

Mr Willem Caswell Maseko (30) was lying in the bedroom, bleeding profusely. He was declared dead on scene by a paramedic that attended the scene. Stab wounds were found on his body.

On Tuesday, September 4, a 26-year-old woman had been arrested in Pretoria in connection with the murder of Maseko.

She was held in custody in eMalahleni and appeared in Witbank Magistrates Court on Wednesday, September 5.

She made a brief appearance in court B which was jam packed with supporters from ‘Team no bail’, the case was postponed until Thursday, September 13.

It is still unclear as to what caused the incident to occur in the Maseko household.

“He was a lovely person with a caring nature. He will be missed, the family still can’t believe that he is dead,” said Ms Zenith Mahlase a family member.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, September 6 at the Civic Theatre for Maseko. His funeral will then take place on Saturday, September 8.

Maseko was an engineer and CEO of Iisile Engineering Supplies.

A case of murder was opened at Witbank Police Station and the investigation is underway.
