The Kriel SAPS is investigating a case of armed robbery that took place on Friday, August 17 at about 00:20 at the fire station and traffic centre in Ga-Nala.

The employees of the fire station alleged that as they were sleeping in their work place, one of the employees by the name of Mr Afika Macheku heard a noise from the back door and before he could go outside to check he noticed an unknown adult African male standing on the ground floor.

Mr Macheku also said the suspect noticed that he saw him then he hid himself by the steps.

As he tried to look for the suspect, the suspect came out with a fire-arm in his hand along with another suspect also armed; one suspect was wearing a jacket with a hat hiding his face and the other one wore a black cap.

The victim alleged that as he ran to the next room to wake other employees, the two suspects followed him and they used force to enter the room and point with fire-arms towards them.

According to the victims the suspects were not only two because they also heard voices talking outside. One of the suspects that entered the building spoke Sesotho and the other one spoke isiZulu.

As the two suspects was trying to communicate with the employees, Mrs Peddy Malaza; one of the female employees didn’t want to cooperate with them and one suspect pushed her from the stairs and she fell down and got injured on the head and leg.

The suspects tied up all three of the employees using shoe laces and they took their cell phones, Acer black laptop, tags, flat screen TVs and they left them in that room. The suspects went to the Licence Department and noticed no one was in the Licence Department building.
The victims said they heard the noise of a grinder that lasted almost two hours, the robbers managed to break or cut the safe open and took a large ammount of cash.

The suspects also messed up the place then they escaped the scene without saying anything further to the victims.

No one is arrested; Kriel SAPS has urged the community to come forward with any information that might help their investigation.
