The scene of the accident.

This accident could be described as Deja Vu as it is very similar to the gruesome accident that happened on July 2 earlier this year. Not only is it also on the second of the month but it is in almost the exact same location and it happened in the exact same way.

On their way travelling to school, a Toyota Avanza driver had to swerve out as a car stopped in front of them to turn off onto a gravel road.

“I was driving behind the car as the accident happened,” explained an eye witness that had to look on as this accident happened.

“The Avanza tried to miss the car that stopped in front of him and swerved into oncoming traffic, that was when the Avanza had a head on crash with a BMW.”

It is alleged that the driver of the Avanza was on the way to Middelburg to take children to school when the accident happened.

Two passengers were rushed to hospital because of serious head injuries. The other passengers had minor injuries but were also attended to and taken to hospital.

One of the passengers in the Avanza was a brave little girl that is only nine years old.

She had a broken leg but although she was in pain, she could clearly remember her moms phone number and the mother could be contacted.
Bruce Kirton from the CPF phoned the mother of the girl and informed her about the accident.

“She was hysterical, I hate informing people when something bad happened,” Kirton exclaimed after the call was made.

Members from the SACCW went out to the scene as soon as a call came in and they assisted where they could.

All the major emergency services also attended to the scene and worked extremely well together to ensure that every injured passenger was well attended to.

The main question on all the bystanders lips were “What are they going to do about the R555? When is something going to change?”
