Shootings are claiming more lives than it needs it to.

Early on Sunday morning, July 29 a victim lost the fight against two bullet wounds that eventually claimed his life.

It was reported by police that a call was received about a hijacking in Allenby Street. Upon police arrival, they found 9mm live ammunition and two cartridges on the ground.

A friend shed some light on this gruesome scene and told police that the deceased was hijacked and shot and passed away at Witbank Provincial Hospital.

It came to light that the vehicle was hijacked but later recovered in Zithabiseng, next to Kwaggafontein.
The friend was not available for comment by the time of going to print.

In April, WITBANK NEWS reported that a man was shot dead in Francois Street, on his way home. Evidence pointed to a hijacking, after his vehicle was stolen and a bystander replayed the events.

Another incident took place that same weekend, where Mr Paulus Mkhonza was shot dead in front of his home.
