A distress call came through on the SACCW open channel saying that there was an accident on the R555.
Maureen Scheepers, SACCW Operations Coordinator was first on the scene.
“I alerted all the ambulance services to come as there were injured people scattered all over, I knew this accident was serious,” explained Scheepers.
On Monday morning, 2 July a truck and minibus taxi had a head on collision.
It is alleged that the truck driver didn’t see a car was stopping in front of him and he had to swing out to avoid colliding with the car.

In his attempt to miss the car in front of him the truck collided with an oncoming minibus taxi.
Approximately five individuals were fatally injured. At this stage the number of fatalities are unknown.
