A local chicken restaurant was a target of a robbery this past weekend in eMalahleni.
“A man came into the restaurant making if he wants to order something from the menu. He asked me a few questions about the food as it was his first time at the restaurant. Another guy came in heading straight towards me with a gun pointing towards me,” said the waiter on duty.
The two suspects allegedly worked together to hit the restaurant and demanded the workers to go lie down in the back of the kitchen.

“I was still in front and the one guy said to me, now it is time to work, open the till and give me the cash,” the victim added.
The armed robbers took the cash and a cell phone that was on charge, but after the staff member pleaded to leave her sim card behind, they left her phone as is and fled the scene.
No suspect was arrested and no injuries were sustained. Police is still investigating the incident.
