These days residents of eMalahleni are sceptical when it comes to shopping on pay day and have a good reason to be.

On May 25, a staff member of a well known clothing store in the Central Business District (CBD) was up in arms after being a victim after assisting so called ‘clients’.

It is alleged that the four clients came into the store all together, stacking up their arms full of clothing.

One of the suspects walked to the cell phone shelve and told the staff member that he was armed beneath all the clothing.

He demanded cell phones and a laptop. The other three suspects stood at the entrance of the store and after a while helped the armed suspect to tie up the staff member with cable ties.

They fled the scene on foot and no arrests were made.
