Two house robberies occurred last week and both households lost an undisclosed amount of money with valuables.
The first incident occurred on the morning of May 12 at 02:50 in Gazelle Street.

Miss Mapule Manzini alleged that she was at her home in Gazelle Street when the incident occurred.

While Manzini was sleeping inside her bedroom, but before she went to bed she made sure all the doors and windows were locked.
Manzini was woken up by a light that was switched on inside her bedroom; an unknown man was standing inside her room taking her stuff.
As Manzini lay in bed she made if she was still sleeping, without making a noise or movement.

All of a sudden Manzini’s sister came running in, saying that there was another two suspects inside her bedroom.
By this time the suspects had already taken most of the stuff out of both bedrooms and they were then busy in her son’s bedroom.
The sisters kept quiet inside the bedroom and after a while they went to check the house and the suspects had left the house.

Manzini then looked around to see how the suspects had gained entry into the house and they discovered that a key had been used to open the door.

Allegedly Manzini’s sister can identify the suspects as they did not cover their faces.
The suspects got away with five different cell phones, a handbag, cash, a television and a laptop.

In a separate incident that occurred two days earlier on Thursday, May 10 at 22:30, mr Thulane Ngobese alleged that he was at his home when he heard a noise outside; he went to go check what the noise was by opening the door.

As he opened the door he heard the sound of a firearm being locked and someone telling him to move back inside the house.
Once he was inside the house Ngobese knew there was nothing that he could do as he was surrounded by seven armed men.
Ngobese was tied up with cable ties and placed on his stomach.

The suspects then demanded cash from him,

“I don’t have cash on me,” said a terrified Ngobese.

That is when the suspects decided to settle for the next best thing and that was his cell phones. While a few suspects watched Ngobese, the rest of the suspects went through the house to see if they could not find anything.

Before the suspects left, they untied his hands and told him that he can only stand up after 20 minutes for them to get away.
Once the suspects were outside, Ngobese heard two gunshots; he remained inside the house for a while.

Ngobese then ran to the security guard and used his cell phone to contact the police about the robbery.
The suspects are unknown to Ngobese and a case of house robbery has been opened at Witbank Police Station.
