Robbery with a firearm on the rise

One had a firearm and demanded money.

Police have reported that robberies with firearms in the KwaGuqa policing area are on the rise.

A 46 year-old man opened a case of robbery when he reported that he was walking from Gulfstream Garage in Ackerville on Tuesday, April 17 at about 18:45 when he was approached by two suspects.

The suspects then searched him and took R2 700 in cash, a cellphone, sunglasses, a wallet and his drivers licence.

The suspects then fled on foot from the scene.

The value of all the items taken is estimated to be R9 600.

No one has been arrested and the police are investigating.
