Furry friends in need of family

What would we be without our furry friends? Witbank SPCA had their adoption day where there was a sit-in and a dog-run picnic.

This event was intended for the public to visit kennels and spend time, interact, play and give shelter animals some much needed love and attention.

This happened on Saturday, April 21.

One of the visitors Thulani Dladla enjoyed his day at the SPCA which he spent playing with Howy and Cheeky.

“I now have a total of seven dogs including the adoption I made today. I just love animals. It is always a pleasure coming here, I thoroughly enjoyed my day,” said the animal lover.

The facility has housing for 136 dogs and 80 cats when full.

At the moment they are running at almost 95 – 100 % capacity with very little space to spare.

“We have many mouths to feed and care for, so the interaction from those special people on Saturday was appreciated by all. Thank you to everyone who supported,” said Charlene Barnes, SPCA Vice Chairlady.

The SPCA encourages and invites anyone to be a volunteer at their offices. Contact them on 013 650 2321.
