A man was robbed of his belongings while on duty.

A man was robbed of his belongings while on duty. All he wanted to do was execute his duties to the best of his abilities; little did he know that he would be a victim of an armed robbery.

The incident took place on Monday morning, April 2.

The man was travelling in a white Toyota Quantum on the Old Ogies Road. He was on his way to Emalahleni, coming from Phola, transporting the company’s employees to the Emalahleni offices.

On the way he was blocked by a BMW with no registration number. After a few minutes, a silver Toyota Avanza with no registration stopped in front of the Quantum.

One passenger from the Avanza came out, he was wearing a balaclava. He approached the driver of the quantum, accusing him of driving recklessly. The passenger took out a firearm and allegedly fired one shot into the ground.

Shortly after, the man was ordered to lie on the ground.

The victim was allegedly kicked and robbed of his cell phone, wallet with R200 and car keys. Due to the fact that the man’s phone was stolen, WITBANK NEWS could not reach him for comment.
