Traditional healers came together after the kidnapping and murder of the Shabani children. The police managed to locate the lifeless bodies of the two children, one in Cullinan and the other along the N4 Highway.
This meeting was called by Inkosi Nsizwa Mahlangu on April 8. It became an urgent matter to be addressed because one of the suspects in the murder is a traditional healer; Thokozani Msibi aged 32, who have already appeared at the same court.

In his address, Inkosi Mahlangu said the name of traditional healers is known for all the wrong reasons after the killing of the Shabane children.

The aim of the meeting was to register all traditional healers and have them on a common database. Some traditional healers do not have the necessary certificates to practice as required by law and some of them are from the neighbouring states.
Some of the local traditional healers who attended a meeting called by Inkosi Nsizwa Mahlangu held at the City Hall on Sunday, April 8.

Inkosi Mahlangu indicated that he has taken a decision to register all of them before the March 15 deadline.
“Going forward will invite other government departments for advice. We are going to issue permits that will be renewable annually and will be stamped and you only register your name and your details in my office for the database. Others who want to register after will also be accommodated. I am also going to organise workshops in the future. I will also involve the South African Council of Traditional Healers to assist in other issues,” said Inkosi Mahlangu.
